Uasin Gishu Police Roll Out Digital Occurrence Book, Enhancing Service Delivery
The digitized stations include Eldoret Central Police Station, Langas Police Station, Sukunanga, Kamukunji, and Ainaptich Police Station.
The Uasin Gishu County Police Commander, Benjamin Mwanthi, has announced the rollout of a Digital Occurrence Book (OB) system in five police stations, marking a significant step towards modernizing the police service. The digitized stations include Eldoret Central Police Station, Langas Police Station, Sukunanga, Kamukunji, and Ainaptich Police Station.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Kenya Police Service to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in service delivery. The digital OB system allows for real-time reporting and tracking of cases, reducing the risk of data manipulation and improving response times.
According to Commander Mwanthi, the digitization exercise is a game-changer for the justice system.

“The digital OB system will enable us to process and respond to cases more efficiently, ultimately enhancing public trust in the police service,” he said.
Nationwide, over 300 police stations have transitioned to the digital OB system, with more than 500,000 cases recorded digitally since its inception. This has led to a 30% reduction in case processing time and a 25% increase in conviction rates.
In a related development, a random alcohol test conducted on boda boda riders in Eldoret revealed that a majority were sober, indicating a positive trend towards responsible riding. “This is a commendable effort by the riders, and we urge them to continue prioritizing safety,” Commander Mwanthi noted.
The digital OB system is expected to improve the overall efficiency of the justice system, enabling quicker resolution of cases and enhanced access to justice for citizens.
