Justin Muturi, popularly known as JB Muturi is the Cabinet secretary nominee for the position of the Attorney general.

Muturi 66 was born on 28th April 1956 in Mbeere.

He joined Kangaru Boys High school, later proceeded to University of Nairobi for a bachelor of laws degree  in 1978 and graduated in 1981.

He also pursued a Diploma in law from 1997 to 1999 at the Kenya School of Law.

From 1982 to 1991, Muturi worked for the Judicial Service Commission.

JB Muturi joined politics in 1999 being elected as a member of the Kenya African National Union to represent Siakago Constituency in Parliament following a 1999 by-election after the death of Cyrus Ita.

In 2002, he was re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Siakago and served as opposition chief whip and chair of the Public Investment Committee. He served until 2007.

In 2007 general Elections; Muturi was defeated by Lenny Kivuti who became the Siakago Constituency Member of parliament.

In March 2013 polls Muturi vied in Mbeere North where  he was again defeated by  Muriuki Njagagua.

Justin Muturi is the seventh Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya and the first Speaker to serve a bicameral Parliament established by the 2010 Constitution.

He served as the speaker of Kenya`s bicameral parliament from the year 2013 to 2022.

Muturi, earlier this year supported President William Ruto`s presidential bid and on Tuesday 27 September 2022 President William Ruto nominated him to the position of AG.

The former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, if passed by parliament  he will be The country’s 8th Attorney-General.
