Man arrested after wife dies from stab wound in Kasarani; second fatal domestic case reported in Narok
Authorities have voiced concern over the increase in domestic violence-related deaths, reporting up to eight murder cases daily, many of which remain unsolved.

Police in Kasarani are holding a man suspected of fatally stabbing his wife, Ruth Wangare, after he brought her to St. John’s Hospital in Githurai on Sunday night, where medics declared her dead on arrival.
Wangare, according to medical staff, had a visible stab wound to the left upper abdomen. Hospital personnel contacted law enforcement immediately after examining the body and speaking with the man.
Officers from Kasarani Police Station responded and later escorted the suspect to his residence, where they recovered a kitchen knife with a pink handle, believed to be the murder weapon. The man is in custody as detectives continue their investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled and the body transferred to the morgue.
The man has not yet disclosed what led to the incident. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide.
In a separate domestic violence case in Narok County, police are investigating the death of 30-year-old Timothy Karori Wanjahi, who died from stab wounds following an altercation with his former girlfriend in Ololulunga.
According to neighbors, a heated argument was followed by a struggle at the woman’s home. Wanjahi was rushed to Ololulunga Sub-County Hospital by the woman but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police reports said Wanjahi sustained stab wounds to the back and hands. The woman, who told police that Wanjahi arrived at her home already injured, has been taken into custody to aid in the investigation. His body was moved to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary.
