Moses Wetang’ula and President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet are expected to lead a major Kenya Kwanza “Tutam” rally in Eldoret on Friday as the ruling coalition steps up efforts to build support for Ruto’s expected re-election bid.
The rally will be held at Silverline Grounds along Ronald Ngala Street in Eldoret’s central business district, with part of the road leading to Kisumu Road closed to traffic to accommodate the gathering.
More than 30 Members of Parliament, senators, governors and other political leaders from the Rift Valley and Western regions are expected to attend the event, which will be hosted by Jonathan Bii.
Organizers said the rally will focus on voter registration, the government’s development record, national unity and peace, while mobilizing support for the President’s “Tutam” campaign ahead of next year’s General Election.

“Our main agenda will be the unity of our people, peace and focus on development as we head to the elections,” Farouk Kibet said ahead of the meeting.
Among the leaders expected to attend are Kimani Ichung’wah, Aaron Cheruiyot, Sylvanus Osoro, Mwengi Mutuse, Oscar Sudi, Didmus Barasa and other Kenya Kwanza lawmakers.
Farouk Kibet has played a prominent role in mobilizing political support for President Ruto across the Rift Valley and Western regions. He has also faced growing calls from residents of Turbo Constituency to contest the parliamentary seat in the 2027 elections.
Although he has not declared his candidature, his “Turbo Kwanza, Mambo Baadaye” slogan has gained traction locally, where he has supported several community development initiatives.
The rally comes as Uasin Gishu County, regarded as President Ruto’s political stronghold, intensifies voter registration campaigns after the President recently expressed concern over low registration levels in the Rift Valley.
Local leaders have since urged eligible residents to register ahead of the polls.
Friday’s event marks the first major Kenya Kwanza political rally in Eldoret’s central business district in recent months. The coalition has largely concentrated on church functions and economic empowerment meetings as it prepares for a broader political campaign ahead of the 2027 General Election.
