Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has condoled with the family of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johanna Ng’eno following the death of his brother, Paul Ng’eno.
Gachagua sent his condolences to Paul’s mother, Mary Temas, as the family faces another loss only months after the death of Johanna.
Paul had been receiving treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret after falling ill.In his condolence message shared on Saturday, Gachagua described the death as a painful moment for the family, which has now lost two sons within a short period.
“Pole sana on the loss of your son, Mr. Paul Ng’eno, who had been hospitalized for a while,” Gachagua said in his message. Gachagua said he understood the difficulty of the situation and urged Mary and the wider family to seek strength and comfort in their faith.
He acknowledged that the family could struggle to understand why it had suffered another death after Johanna’s passing earlier this year.“I know that, for a moment, you may question God why this has happened to you and to your sons,” Gachagua said.
The former deputy president also extended his condolences to residents of Emurua Dikirr, saying Paul’s death was a loss to the wider community.
Paul’s death came shortly after Gachagua visited the Ng’eno family home in Mogondo, Narok County, where he met Mary Temas.
During the visit, the family disclosed that Paul’s hospital bill had accumulated to about KSh1.8 million.Mary had appealed to Gachagua to assist in settling the outstanding medical bill and facilitate her son’s release from hospital.
Gachagua agreed to help clear the bill and expressed concern over Paul’s condition.Paul later died while undergoing treatment, leaving the family facing another funeral before it had fully recovered from Johanna’s death.
Johanna Ng’eno, who represented Emurua Dikirr in Parliament, died on February 28, 2026, after a helicopter crash in the Mosop area of Nandi County.
The former lawmaker was among six people who died in the accident. His death triggered widespread mourning in Narok and beyond, with political leaders and residents paying tribute to his service as an elected representative.
The family has now been hit by another tragedy following Paul’s death, with Gachagua calling on the bereaved relatives and the people of Emurua Dikirr to remain strong during the difficult period.
Gachagua concluded his message by praying for God to grant Mary Temas and the rest of the family strength and comfort as they mourn Paul.
The deaths of the two brothers within a few months have left the Ng’eno family dealing with successive losses and renewed grief in their home in Mogondo.
