Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago expressed deep gratitude to all leaders and friends who supported his family during the burial of his mother.

Mama Esther’s passing marks the end of an important family period yet her faith and love and service to others will inspire future descendants.

A solemn ceremony to honour Mama Esther Gogo took place at Sigen Farm in Kuinet Uasin Gishu County through prayers and tributes and thanksgiving which celebrated her life. She died at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, perseverance, humility and dedication to both family and community.
Senator Mandago used his message to thank God for granting his mother a long life which lasted more than 90 years. He described her as the foundation of the family and a woman of strong faith whose prayers and guidance influenced many generations.

“We are truly grateful that God blessed our mother with 92 years of life. That was a special gift to our family. Her journey through life showed her strength as she dedicated herself to loving others without conditions,” the Senator said. “The time we spent with her will always be remembered together with the lessons she taught us.”

The burial attracted a large number of national and county leaders, highlighting the family’s extensive ties and relationships. Senator Mandago expressed special gratitude to President William Samoei Ruto for his prayers, support and solidarity during the mourning period.

He acknowledged the support he received through condolence messages and phone calls and visits and prayers which Kenyans provided to him from across the country. The family received strength from the unified support which helped them through their grieving process.

Senate Speaker Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi and National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula were among the attendees of the event. Nandi Deputy Governor Yulita Cheruiyot joined the two Governors Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu) and Wisley Rotich (Elgeyo Marakwet) at the event.

Several Senators attended the event including Ledama Ole Kina from Narok David Wakoli from Bungoma Wahome Wamatinga from Nyeri Okong’o Omogeni from Nyamira and Joyce Korir Hamida Kibwana Consolata Wakwabubi and Prof. Margaret Kamar who were nominated.

National Assembly members who joined the family included Didmus Baraza from Kimilili Johana Ng’eno from Emurua Dikirr Joseph Cherorot from Kipkelion East Beatrice Elachi from Dagoretti North Dick Maungu from Luanda Brighton Yegon from Konoin Kangogo Bowen from Marakwet East Tim Kipchumba from Marakwet West and CPA Julius Rutto from Kesses David Kiplagat from Soy Abraham Mutai from Kuresoi North Gideon Kimaiyo from Keiyo South Janet Rotich from Turbo Bernard Kitur from Nandi Hills Phyllis Bartoo from Moiben Joses Lelmengit from Emgwen Beatrice Kemei from Kericho and Bishop Kosgei from the nominated members. A delegation from Uganda also attended, reflecting regional ties and friendship.

Principal Secretaries Prof. Julius Bitok who handles Education and Mary Muthoni who handles Public Health joined chairpersons Caleb Kositany from Kenya Airports Authority Amani Yuda from Kenya Pipeline Staff Pension Scheme Joseph Lagat from Kenya Wildlife Service and Jackson Kiptanui from ODP at the event. A group of leaders and stakeholders including former Kericho Governor Stanley Kiptis former Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney and businessman David Lagat attended the meeting.

Speakers described Mama Esther as a devoted Christian, a hardworking matriarch and a unifying presence whose counsel was highly respected. Family members remembered her as a caring mother and grandmother whose home warmly welcomed relatives, neighbors and friends.

Senator Mandago expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the family through their physical presence and their prayers.

“We are sincerely humbled by the solidarity and encouragement shown to us during this difficult time. Your prayers uplifted us. May God richly bless you all,” he said.
