Murang’a County government to embrace ICT in service delivery

The County of Uasin Gishu hosted a delegation from Muranga County who were keen on fostering partnerships and exchange of ideas in the Agriculture and Information Technology sectors.
The team led by Muranga Deputy Governor Hon.Stephen Munania was received by his Uasin Gishu Counterpart Eng. John Barorot who lauded the team for choosing the County of champions as one of the regions to engage and bench mark with.
“Today our colleagues from Muranga have come to benchmark on areas of Interests especially the use of ICT to enhance service delivery and revenue collections,our experiences in ICT which has helped in digital transformation has enabled us to provide services to the public by digitizing most of the county services,” said the Uasin Gishu deputy governor.
Barorot added that the County will also benchmark with their Muranga counterparts on avocado farming and processing where they are looking at the possibility of getting seedlings from them and enabling avocado farmers engage in value addition.
“I want to encourage all other Counties, let us be flexible to allow our teams to share our experiences, and am looking forward to a day when we can send staff from one County to another for a month to learn from each other,” he added.
Muranga Deputy governor Stephen Munania underscored the commitment of Muranga County Government under the leadership of Governor Irungu Kangata on improving service delivery to the residents of Muranga.

“If champions come together with Mount Kenya we believe we have an impact in the world. We have come for benchmarking on ICT and Agricultural practices. If we want to provide the best system we need to learn from those who have done the best where we learn from their successes and failures,” the Muranga Deputy Governor noted.
“For us to effectively give service delivery we need to provide the best technology, best administrative skills, and the best mechanism for them to improve on,” he added.
Muranga County will offer more than 200,000 seedlings of avocado to the county as well as provide capacity building on best farming practices of the crop
