The Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Principal Secretary for the State Department of Medical Services, Harry Kimtai, has unveiled its strategic priorities for 2025 aimed at transforming healthcare delivery in Kenya.

During a senior management meeting held today, the department reflected on 2024’s achievements and identified key focus areas to address existing challenges and advance the nation’s healthcare objectives.

The meeting served as a critical platform for evaluating the performance of healthcare delivery in 2024.

Among the achievements and challenges reviewed were advancements in service delivery, resource allocation, and accessibility to healthcare.

These assessments provided valuable insights into areas requiring improvement and formed the basis for the 2025 action plan.

Key strategic goals for 2025 include:

Strengthening Capacity Building and Infrastructure Development
The Ministry aims to enhance healthcare facilities and increase the workforce capacity to address gaps in service delivery.

Improving Service Accessibility

Efforts will focus on reducing regional disparities and ensuring equitable healthcare access for all Kenyans, particularly in underserved areas.

Fostering Innovation and Resource Mobilization through Partnerships

Speaking at the meeting, PS Kimtai reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable and equitable healthcare delivery. “We are determined to implement impactful programs that address the healthcare needs of all Kenyans.
