Kenya and Algeria have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic relations, emphasizing their shared dedication to pan-Africanism and the development of their nations.

President William Ruto underscored the significance of this partnership during a meeting at State House, Nairobi, where he received a special message from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The message was delivered by Algeria’s Special Envoy and Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, who was accompanied by Ambassador Selma Hadadi, Algeria’s candidate for Vice-Chair of the African Union Commission.

President Ruto expressed Kenya’s eagerness to strengthen the already robust ties between the two countries.

“Kenya and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria have, over the years, enjoyed cordial diplomatic relations, buttressed by mutual commitment to pan-Africanism and the need for the progress of our two nations. We will continue strengthening these ties to boost trade, investment, and people-to-people contacts,” President Ruto stated.

This renewed focus on bilateral cooperation comes at a time when both nations are striving to enhance their roles within the African Union and foster regional stability and prosperity.

Trade and investment are key areas where Kenya and Algeria see immense potential for collaboration. Both countries are also committed to addressing shared challenges such as climate change, youth unemployment, and regional security.
