Senator Methu Accuses MP Samuel Arama Of Planning To Disrupt DCP Party Offices Opening In Nakuru**

Nyandarua Senator John Methu has accused Nakuru Town West Member of Parliament Samuel Arama of organizing goons to disrupt the planned opening of Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) offices in Nakuru.
Addressing the press in Nakuru on Tuesday, Senator Methu, who was flanked by DCP party officials dressed in green party regalia bearing the image of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, said they had received intelligence that Arama was mobilizing individuals to cause chaos during the party’s activities in Nakuru Town West Constituency.
Methu said he was putting the Nakuru County Commander on notice, stating that the police boss should not claim ignorance should violence erupt. He insisted that they were providing the security team with early intelligence to allow them to act.
“And we want to inform the County Commander so that you don’t claim ignorance and say that you are not aware. We want to give you the intelligence. Number one, Samuel Arama is organizing goons to disrupt our activities of opening our party offices in Nakuru Town West, the offices are just here in Miritini,” Methu stated.
The Senator emphasized that the onus to protect lives and property lies with the police, warning that any attempt to act as if they had not been informed would not be tolerated.
“Whether you act like you have not heard, I have told you. Mr. Samuel Bohit, whether you act like you have not heard we have told you that Samuel Arama is organizing goons to disrupt our activities of opening our party offices in Nakuru Town, in Nakuru West Constituency,” he added.
In his second intelligence brief to the police, Methu also claimed that the Personal Assistant to the Member of Parliament for Njoro, a Mr. Shimiwa Kalambi, has also been organizing violence ahead of a meeting they are scheduled to attend in a place called Njoro, which is still within Nakuru County.
“Number two, we’ve been informed that the personal assistant of the member of parliament for Njoro, Shimiwa Kalambi, has also been organizing violence in the meeting that we are to attend in a place called Njoro. Njoro is still in Nakuru and he goes to want to inform you again Mr. Samuel Bohit that the onus is on you to protect the lives and property of the people of Nakuru,” Methu said.
The Democracy for Citizens Party, which is associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has been on a nationwide drive to open grassroots offices ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party has faced resistance and alleged intimidation in several counties, with its leaders accusing the state and rival politicians of sponsoring goons to frustrate their mobilization.
By the time of going to press, MP Samuel Arama had not responded to the allegations. The Nakuru County Police Commander was also yet to issue an official statement on the security measures for the planned DCP functions.
