Aden Duale Presides Over Sheikh Ali Sufi International Qur’an Recitation Competition

Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, Aden Duale, had the honor of presiding over the grand closing ceremony of the Sheikh Ali Sufi International Qur’an Recitation Competition.
This prestigious event, held in collaboration with Al Ansar, brought together 444 participants from over 44 countries, making it a significant celebration of Qur’anic recitation and Islamic unity.
The competition not only celebrated the profound beauty of the Qur’an but also served as a platform for promoting peace, tolerance, and unity.
Religious leaders and scholars present engaged in discussions on critical themes, including moral values, parental guidance, and the role of faith in fostering global harmony.
This year’s event was marked by an extraordinary achievement from Abdelrahman Nageh Gad, a visually impaired participant from Egypt, whose flawless recitation earned him the top prize.
Other notable contestants included Abdullahi Bashir from the USA, who placed second, and Abdulaziz Abdunasir from Ethiopia, who secured third.
Fourth and fifth positions were claimed by Abdelaziz Ahmed from Egypt and Amir Ibrahim Amadow from Burkina Faso, respectively.
Prominent Muslim scholars from around the world graced the occasion, adding immense value to the gathering.
Celebrated figures such as Sheikh Zakir Naik from India, Sheikh Abdurashid Sh Ali Sufi from Qatar, and Sheikh Dr. Waleed Al-Maneese from the USA were among the distinguished attendees.
Other notable scholars included Sheikh Dr. Suhail Iqbal from Kenya, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Falah Mandikar from Kuwait, and Sheikh Ahmed Issa Al-Ma’asarawi from Egypt, alongside leaders from SUPKEM and NAMLEF.
In his address, Hon. Aden Duale emphasized the importance of such events in fostering understanding and unity across communities.
He praised the participants for their exceptional dedication and skill in recitation, calling the competition a testament to the enduring power of the Qur’an to inspire and unite people globally.
