Wetang’ula Urges Western Region to Rally Behind Ruto as Development Projects Gather Pace

Speaker Says Region Experiencing Unprecedented Growth
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has called on leaders and residents of the Western region to fully support the administration of William Ruto, citing significant government investment in the area.
The Western region is experiencing its most extensive development progress according to Wetang’ula who works for the development of his home area.
The Speaker visited Bulimbo in Matungu Constituency of Kakamega County on Sunday with **Fernandes Barasa** and Senators and Members of Parliament to inform local people that President Ruto’s projects will receive funding from national budget allocations.
“I have worked with late President Daniel Arap Moi, late President Mwai Kibaki and I was a cabinet minister; I have worked in the Senate under President Uhuru Kenyatta and now we are with President Ruto. Our region has received more development during this period than at any other time throughout our history according to him.
MPs Asked to Leverage Budget Process
Wetang’ula urged regional lawmakers to use the national assembly budget-making process which is currently happening to help their area obtain funding needed for development projects.
“I am calling upon all MPs from the region to utilize the current budget-making process to secure sufficient funds for the completion of these projects,” he added.

Revival of Sugar Mills and Infrastructure Boost
The projects which were presented included the revival of Mumias Sugar Company and Nzoia Sugar Company and the tarmacking and expansion of roads and the construction of modern markets and the creation of hostels at public facilities through the Affordable Housing Programme.
The government of Wetang’ula has launched these initiatives to assist regional economic development while supporting residents to enhance their economically established lives.
Kakamega Level 6 Hospital Construction Resumes
The president’s intervention led to construction work resuming at Kakamega Level 6 Hospital according to Governor Fernandes Barasa.
“Construction works are ongoing after both the national and county governments allocated funds to the project, which will transform healthcare services in the region,” Barasa said.
Kenya Kwanza’s Record on Teacher Employment
Senate Majority Leader **Aaron Cheruiyot** reported that the Kenya Kwanza administration has hired over 100000 teachers within a three-year period which he considered a historical accomplishment.
The presence of the leaders included Bungoma Senator **Wafula Wakoli** and Likuyani MP **Innocent Mugabe** and Matungu MP **Oscar Nabulindo** and presidential aide **Farouk Kibet**.
The leaders called on residents to support the inclusive government while they condemned the opposition for their politics which they believed blocked developmental progress.
