Senior Police Officer Dies in Road Accident in Mbita

Grief Engulfs Sub-County After Fatal Crash
The police officer died on Tuesday night which resulted in total mourning for Mbita Sub-County. Deputy County Commissioner Peter Mutiso confirmed the crash incident which involved Chief Inspector Maurice Kyalo who died near Nyakayiemba Primary School on the Homa Bay–Mbita road.
Vehicle Veered Off Road, Hit Culvert
The vehicle of Chief Inspector Kyalo crashed into a culvert after he lost control of his vehicle according to Mutiso. The officer who served as Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Mbita Police Station was returning to work after his leave when the accident occurred.
“Mutiso stated that something on the road caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Officer Pronounced Dead on Arrival
Ogongo Police Station security officers responded to the incident and transported their fellow officer to Ogongo Hospital where he died upon arrival. Mutiso led officers to the crash site after they began their accident investigation work.
Mutiso stated that county- level officers joined their investigation team to to investigate the accident. The body was later moved to Med 25 Mortuary in Kirindo.
Leaders Mourn Dedicated Officer
Mutiso described Kyalo as a public servant who dedicated his life to his work. Mutiso described Kyalo as a dedicated state worker who answered every emergency request.
