The Ministry of Health has reassured stakeholders that the ongoing integration process within Kenya’s healthcare system is a well-planned and strategic transition, not a crisis.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Barasa, addressed growing concerns about the integration and emphasized that it is part of a long-term effort to strengthen healthcare delivery nationwide.

Dr. Barasa confirmed that the Ministry has set clear policy directions to guide the integration process, ensuring that it proceeds smoothly and effectively.

He clarified that the move towards a more unified healthcare system is not a sudden change but rather a carefully mapped-out strategy designed to improve the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of healthcare services across Kenya.

“The integration is a planned and necessary step to strengthen healthcare delivery in Kenya,” Dr. Barasa stated. “We are focused on providing comprehensive healthcare that is accessible to all Kenyans, and this process is a critical part of achieving that goal.”

The integration, which has been in the works for some time, seeks to bring various healthcare services under a more coordinated and efficient system.

By streamlining healthcare resources and improving collaboration between different healthcare sectors, the Ministry aims to create a more cohesive system that can better respond to the needs of the population, particularly in underserved regions.

Dr. Barasa also assured stakeholders that the Ministry is taking a comprehensive approach, emphasizing not only the integration of services but also long-term sustainability.

This includes investing in healthcare infrastructure, improving training for medical professionals, and ensuring that health systems across the country can handle both current demands and future growth.

The Ministry of Health remains committed to its mission of providing accessible and high-quality healthcare for all Kenyans.

With a clear roadmap and ongoing support from both the government and healthcare professionals, the Ministry is confident that the integration process will lead to stronger, more efficient healthcare systems that benefit everyone in the country.

“As we move forward with the integration, our focus is on ensuring that no Kenyan is left behind,” Dr. Barasa concluded. “Our goal is a healthier nation, and this transition is key to making that a reality.”
