Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has lauded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its remarkable achievements in 2024, emphasizing its pivotal role in redefining Kenya’s foreign policy to align with global trends and national priorities.
Speaking during the Ministry’s end-of-year celebrations, Mudavadi highlighted the strides made in strengthening Kenya’s global standing.
“This year, the Ministry has made remarkable progress in redefining Kenya’s foreign policy, ensuring it remains attuned to global dynamics and our national interests,” Mudavadi stated.
One of the year’s significant highlights was addressing the often-asked question: Why does the President travel? Mudavadi underscored that President William Ruto’s diplomatic engagements have yielded tangible results.
These include enhanced bilateral ties, the opening of new trade opportunities, and increased foreign investments, which have positioned Kenya as a key player on the global stage.
“The President’s travels are not just ceremonial but are integral to driving our national agenda. The outcomes speak for themselves—strengthened relationships, expanded markets, and a spotlight on Kenya as a preferred investment destination,” Mudavadi explained.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also commended the Ministry’s staff for their dedication and tireless efforts in achieving these milestones. Reflecting on their hard work, Mudavadi expressed his heartfelt gratitude and optimism for the future.
“As we draw the year to a close, I want to thank the entire team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their unwavering commitment. Your contributions have been instrumental in advancing Kenya’s position globally,” he said.
Mudavadi extended warm wishes for a joyous holiday season and a successful New Year, calling on the team to build on the momentum gained in 2024. He expressed confidence that 2025 would bring even greater achievements as Kenya continues to champion its global agenda.
The Ministry’s accomplishments this year are seen as a testament to the government’s dedication to fostering international cooperation and economic growth. By prioritizing strategic partnerships and trade agreements, Kenya has positioned itself as a forward-thinking nation in an increasingly interconnected world.
Looking ahead, Mudavadi reiterated the government’s commitment to driving Kenya’s global agenda to even greater heights. With renewed energy and focus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is poised to deliver on its mandate and ensure Kenya remains a strong and respected player on the world stage.
