Nairobi will play host to the highly anticipated Regional Health Promotion Conference (RHPC) 2025 this March, an event spearheaded by Kenya’s Ministry of Health in collaboration with VSO International, Africa CDC, and other key regional partners.

Themed “Sustainable Health Promotion through Universal Health Coverage and Intersectionality in Healthcare,” the conference aims to foster dialogue on innovative strategies to enhance health promotion.

By bringing together stakeholders from various sectors, the event seeks to address critical intersections of health with education, technology, climate change, and the private sector.

These discussions are expected to spotlight the collective role of diverse industries in advancing community wellness across the region.

Preparations for the conference are well underway. Recently, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, convened a meeting with the VSO technical team, led by Papa Diouf, Global Practice Area Lead for Health.

During the meeting, the team provided key updates on the progress and planning for the milestone event.

The RHPC 2025 is projected to attract over 500 delegates, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and strategic partners from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and other nations across Africa.

The event will serve as a platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions aimed at achieving sustainable health promotion through universal health coverage.

In addition to plenary discussions and expert panels, the conference will provide opportunities for networking and collaborations among stakeholders. Participants will engage in meaningful dialogue on leveraging technology, addressing the impacts of climate change on health, and integrating the private sector into health promotion initiatives.

The Ministry of Health has emphasized the importance of this event in advancing Kenya’s commitment to improving public health standards and achieving universal health coverage by 2030.

“This conference underscores our dedication to fostering regional collaboration and addressing health challenges holistically to create a healthier future for all,” PS Muthoni stated.

With the convergence of expertise and innovation from various sectors, RHPC 2025 promises to set a new benchmark in health promotion initiatives in Africa.
