Koyonzo, who have dominated the KSSSA Rugby 7s title for three consecutive years, fell short in the first quarterfinal match at Kisii School, making way for a new champion to emerge this year.

Bwake Boys secured their spot in the semifinals by dominating the match despite being reduced to six players at one point due to a yellow card. They are the first boys’ team to advance to the semifinals, with the remaining three quarterfinal matches scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th.

In the girls’ category, Kinale Girls were the first to book their place in the semifinals after a close 14-12 victory over Madira Girls. Nyagichenche Girls, a powerhouse in Kisii County, earned the second semifinal spot by edging out Nyakach Girls 10-5. National Girls Rugby 15s champions, St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale, continued their strong performance with a 14-5 win against Paul Harris to advance. Finally, St. Theresa secured the last spot in the semifinals with a solid 10-0 victory over Shimba Hills.
