Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has officially announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season, marking the conclusion of a legendary 10-year spell at the Etihad.
The Belgian midfielder confirmed his departure in an emotional social media post, stating, “These will be my final months as a Manchester City player.”
De Bruyne, 32, has been a key figure in City’s dominance over the past decade since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015 for £54.5 million.
During his time in Manchester, he has won every major domestic trophy, including multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, and the UEFA Champions League.
In his farewell message, De Bruyne expressed gratitude to the club, its fans, and the city itself, acknowledging the profound impact his time at City has had on his life.
“This city. This club. These people… gave me EVERYTHING. I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what—we won EVERYTHING.”
His departure signals the end of an era for Manchester City, as he has been widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
Known for his vision, passing range, and leadership, De Bruyne’s influence on the team has been immeasurable.
With his contract expiring in the summer, the Belgian will be available as a free agent, sparking speculation about his next destination.
While no official move has been confirmed, interest from European giants and clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS) and Saudi Arabia is expected.
As City fans prepare to bid farewell to one of their greatest-ever players, De Bruyne’s legacy at the club is assured. His impact on English football and beyond will be remembered for years to come.
