This was the core message from Kenya as the region marked the 25th anniversary of the EAC in a commemorative event held in Arusha, Tanzania.

“Tremendous progress has been made, and we are hopeful of a secure and stable South Sudan,” President William Ruto noted during the celebrations.
In addition to South Sudan, Kenya is collaborating with other EAC Partner States to address security concerns in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Horn of Africa.
The DRC’s stability is seen as crucial to the region’s prosperity, given its vast natural resources and strategic importance.
Similarly, restoring peace in Somalia remains a priority for Kenya and its partners, with efforts aimed at fostering sustainable growth and economic integration.
Kenya’s commitment to peace underscores its broader role in driving the EAC’s vision of unity and development.
As the region celebrated 25 years of partnership and progress, Kenya reaffirmed its dedication to using stability as a cornerstone for trade and economic advancement.
