Speaking during the launch of two key projects in Taveta, Taita Taveta County, Ruto outlined his government’s plans to ensure equitable access to quality education for all children across the country.
“We are addressing the lack of infrastructure and personnel in our schools by building more classrooms and employing more teachers nationwide,” the president stated. “Our goal is to ensure that our children, regardless of their background, have the chance to pursue their dreams.”

The president also launched the Last Mile Connectivity Project at Sir Ramson, a transformative initiative aimed at extending electricity to remote areas.
This project is expected to directly benefit schools by enabling access to digital learning tools and enhancing overall academic performance.
Ruto emphasized that his administration’s education reforms are part of a broader strategy to empower future generations and secure Kenya’s development.
He pledged increased investment in teacher recruitment and training to ensure the availability of qualified educators in both urban and rural areas.
Community leaders and local residents praised the government’s initiatives, expressing optimism about the positive impact on the region. “This is a game-changer for our children,” said Grace Mwakio, a Taveta resident. “Access to quality education and electricity will open up countless opportunities for our community.”
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, who accompanied the president, noted that the government has already allocated significant resources to constructing new classrooms and modernizing existing facilities. He reiterated that providing equal opportunities for all students remains a top priority.
