Five Killed in Grisly Road Accident Along Kapsabet-Eldoret Highway
Tragically, a 4-year-old girl, who was the only occupant of the school bus, also died on the spot.
Five people lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving a Nissan Matatu and a school bus belonging to Cheptabach Secondary School on the Kapsabet-Eldoret highway at Mutwot, Nandi County.
Confirming the incident, Nandi County Police Commander Dickens Njogu stated, “The accident claimed the lives of the Matatu driver and two male passengers who died on the spot. Another male passenger succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Mosoriot Hospital.”
Tragically, a 4-year-old girl, who was the only occupant of the school bus, also died on the spot. “The young girl was ejected from the bus through its broken windscreen during the accident,” Njogu added.
The accident, which occurred yesterday evening, left several other passengers injured. They were rushed to various health facilities in Nandi County for medical attention.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the cause of the accident.
