Police in Eldoret are holding two people, one of them a woman in
connection with the death of a 35 year old woman whose body was found
in lodging on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
The deceased, is believed to have spent a night with the suspects
at the lodging after a drinking spree together in one of the
entertainment joints on Wednesday night.
It is believed that one of the suspects who works as a night guard in
Eldoret town and was off duty booked a room at the facility located
along the Eldoret-Webuye highway at around 11pm.
Turbo sub county police commander Chris Wesonga confirmed the incident
saying the two suspects, a man and woman are being held at the central
police station to help the sleuth with investigations into the matter.
“It is true we are holding two suspects, one of them a woman to help
us unravel the circumstances under which the deceased made her death
in lodging on the fateful Wednesday night,” said Wesonga.
Wesonga said that the suspects were seized at the facility by a team
of police detectives while totally drunk and could not comprehend
anything within their vicinity.
“We are waiting for them to stabilize first after a night out drinking
spree before we can start to interrogate them over the death of the
deceased in a lodging,” added Wesonga.
To avert a similar incident in the future, the police chief has now
advised lodge owners to record the details of every person who
accesses their facilities as indicated in their national
