The Eldoret Municipality Chair Julius Kitur has stated that Eldoret is well prepared to provide hospitality to thousands of visitors expected to grace the 8Th devolution conference slated from 15th -19th August this year.
This year’s conference seeks to reflect on the last 10 years of devolution and explore locally and internationally recognized methodologies for strengthening systems to enhance transformational service delivery in Counties.
Kitur notes this event only happens twice in two years and the next time the event will take place in Eldoret is after 94 years hence the need for the business community and the residents to seize many business opportunities presented by the conference .
“Activities going on in the municipalities and the entire county show that we are prepared in terms of hospitality and accommodation. People who own hotels and even the transport systems have been communicated to and have already braced up.” Stated Julius
The Eldoret Municipality Chair shared that accommodation facilities are fully booked hence the need for the neighboring counties and municipalities to provide accommodation for an overflow of the over 10,000 guests who will be in need of social amenities
He assures that the security has their arsenals set for the national event.
“Since this is both a county and a National event security will be heightened , the county Government under the leadership of Governor Jonathan Bii has also assured that all county enforcement officers will augment The National police at strategic places just to ensure all our guests are safe .” He added
Through the county devolution conference committee plans are under way to map out strategic streets that could be used by people who own courier shops and those who make carvings and sculptures to showcase their crafts and also sell them.
Julius has assured that the affluent visitors are promised to get 5-star treatment in Uasin Gishu’s grandeur hotel such as The Eka Hotel, and other top leading hospitality facilities such as The Boma Inn, Sirikwa Hotel, and many more.
