Eldoret, Minneapolis Seek to Deepen Sister-City Partnership

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has held talks with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey on strengthening the longstanding sister-city relationship between Eldoret and Minneapolis.
Bii said the meeting, held at Frey’s office, focused on expanding cooperation in sports, education and research, agriculture, healthcare, innovation and sustainable urban development.
He said the partnership has created opportunities for practical cooperation between the two cities over the years and that the latest discussions sought to build on the progress already made.
The governor said the two cities were exploring additional areas of collaboration as they continue to respond to changing economic, social and urban development needs.
Bii added that the partnership would focus on delivering practical benefits to residents of both Eldoret and Minneapolis while deepening the relationship between the two cities.
He said Eldoret remained committed to strengthening existing programmes and identifying new opportunities for cooperation in areas critical to the county’s development.
