Eldoret Media Hub Celebrates Graduation of Three Journalism Students at ETTI

The Media Hub Eldoret, a prominent platform under the umbrella of the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association (UGJA), has played an instrumental role in shaping the careers of these emerging journalists.

On Tuesday, 10th December 2024, the Eldoret Technical Training Institute (ETTI) marked its 10th graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of its students.

Among the notable graduands were three talented journalism students—Abwajo Marcelah Achieng, Kipchumba Silverstein, and Ronaldo Keitany Cheptumo—who are alumni of the Media Hub Eldoret.

The Media Hub Eldoret, a prominent platform under the umbrella of the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association (UGJA), has played an instrumental role in shaping the careers of these emerging journalists.

The institution, which provides practical training and mentorship to budding media professionals, congratulated the trio for their milestone achievement and expressed pride in their success.

In their emotional graduation speeches, the three students took a moment to express their gratitude to the guardians, teachers, and staff at ETTI, as well as the Media Hub Eldoret.

“We are deeply thankful for the unwavering support and encouragement we received from Media Hub Eldoret,” said Kipchumba Silverstein. “Their mentorship has been vital in sharpening our skills, helping us grow into the journalists we are today.”

Ronaldo Keitany Cheptumo echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing how the exposure and hands-on experience at Media Hub Eldoret had been transformative.

“The support we received from the team at the Media Hub was invaluable,” he shared. “They recognized our potential early on and helped us hone the skills necessary to excel in this industry.”

Abwajo Marcelah Achieng, who also expressed her gratitude, noted that the guidance from industry professionals at Media Hub Eldoret had instilled in her a deep understanding of the media landscape.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the mentorship and resources provided by Media Hub Eldoret,” she said.

The Media Hub Eldoret, led by the chairperson of the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association, James Gitaka, extended its congratulations to the graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors.

Gitaka emphasized that the graduation of these three students is a testament to the Hub’s continued commitment to fostering talent and professionalism in the media industry.

As the three graduates step into the world of journalism, the Media Hub Eldoret remains committed to providing platforms for emerging journalists to develop, grow, and contribute to the evolution of the Kenyan media landscape.
