The program started its official operation at Namwacha Primary School which belongs to West Sang’alo Ward. The program will provide benefits to all farmers located in the 45 wards of the county. The initiative allows 500 farmers from each ward to receive certified farm inputs which they will use during the current planting season.

Through the program every eligible person will obtain 10 kilograms of certified maize seeds and 50 kilograms of planting fertilizer and 50 kilograms of top-dressing fertilizer which will help them achieve better crop production while practicing sustainable farming methods.

The governor expressed that agriculture serves as an essential economic driver for the county while he stated that supplying farmers with high-quality farm products will result in better crop yields which will help families maintain their food supply.

He told farmers to use their received inputs according to their intended purpose while warning them not to sell their acquired materials. Lusaka urged beneficiaries to utilize the support they receive to boost their harvests which will help their communities achieve better food availability.

The county officials stated that the distribution process functions as a component of the county government’s comprehensive agricultural assistance initiative which aims to help vulnerable farmers while promoting sustainable farming methods throughout the entire region.
