Jubilee Party Defends Uhuru Kenyatta Amid Blame Game Over Raila Odinga’s 2022 Election Loss
Jubilee’s saying Uhuru was out in the open about backing Raila in 2022. If there was any funny business that cost Raila the election, ODM needs to sort it out itself instead of blaming Uhuru.

The Jubilee Party is standing up for its leader, ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta, after a bunch of politicians started blaming him for Raila Odinga’s loss in the 2022 election. The party’s not happy that Uhuru’s been pulled into this public fight about campaign money, saying these attacks are bogus and just political games.
This whole thing blew up after a nasty back-and-forth between ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed. Sifuna’s saying Junet messed up the cash that Uhuru supposedly gave to help Raila’s campaign. Junet shot back, saying the ex-president, through his family and friends, is actually behind the money problems.
Jubilee leaders told the media on Tuesday that the current government is behind these attacks on Uhuru. They called the claims lies meant to take people’s attention away from the government’s failures. The party’s swearing up and down that Uhuru’s never been part of sneaky plans to mess with political parties.
Jubilee’s saying Uhuru was out in the open about backing Raila in 2022. If there was any funny business that cost Raila the election, ODM needs to sort it out itself instead of blaming Uhuru. Jubilee thinks some people are just trying to pin their own screw-ups on the former president.
The party’s making it clear they won’t let their leader be used as a scapegoat or dragged into schemes to weaken parties that people have worked hard to build. Jubilee also thinks these attacks are meant to get people riled up along ethnic lines and bring back old political feuds for personal gain.
Jubilee’s planning a comeback on the national scene. They’re talking about signing up new members all over the country, working with up-and-coming leaders, and teaming up with parties that think like they do.
Meanwhile, Junet Mohamed is claiming that money meant to hire election workers was given to Uhuru’s brother, Muhoho Kenyatta, who then put someone named Peter Mburu in charge. Junet says Mburu didn’t get the job done in important areas, even though he said he was an IT whiz. But Sifuna’s calling Junet a hypocrite, saying he’s now acting like he doesn’t want anything to do with the same money he used to be happy to take.
