A Milimani court has issued a warrant of arrest for Hon. George Koimburi, the Juja Member of Parliament, over his alleged involvement in staging a fake abduction on May 25, 2025.
Authorities say the incident, which occurred after Koimburi attended a service at Full Gospel Ebenezer Church in Mugutha, was deliberately filmed and disseminated online to mislead the public.
Investigators later concluded the abduction was staged to help Koimburi evade an impending arrest tied to a separate land fraud case already approved for prosecution by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case was formally filed Wednesday at the Milimani Law Courts, where four of the seven accused , Peter Kiratu Mbari, Cyrus Kieru Muhia, David Macharia Gatana, and Grace Nduta Wairimu, appeared for plea taking. All pleaded not guilty and were released on cash bail of Sh300,000, each with three contact persons.

Koimburi and two other suspects, identified as Peter and Njuguna (alias Njugush), failed to appear, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants against them. The case will be mentioned before Court No. 5 on Aug. 5, 2025.
