Uasin Gishu Journalists Partner with Environmentalists in promoting Conservation efforts

Uasin Gishu Journalists under The Uasin Gishu Journalists Association Saturday joined Environmentalists in partnership with Yunitok in a cleanup exercise at the 64 Retail market.
The exercise brought together the Kenya Scouts Association, The I Choose Life Organization, students of Vera Beauty College among other partners.
Speaking during the event, Elizabeth Nyaberi an advocate of the High court and The Kenya Scouts Association Yunitok co-coordinator said the exercise aims at creating public awareness on Environmental conservation .
“Today we had a cleaning exercise in Eldoret town our aim is to ensure that youth are engaged in efforts to conserve our environment and mitigate on the effects of Climate change, The exercise also engages the youth in constructive activities ,” she said
The Yunitok platform was launched by UNICEF in Kenya on 25th February 2022 and is designed to equip young people with life skills ,leadership skills and community work, shaping their perspectives on different issues in the society .
The Uasin Gishu Journalists Association Chairman James Gitaka promised continuous partnerships with various organizations to advance the interests of the Community by highlighting and creating public awareness on issues of Alcohol and drug abuse among the young people as well as on environmental conservation efforts,
“We will continue to partner with like minded organizations to highlight issues pertinent to the community, advance the conversations of common good for all such as Environmental conservation, drug and Alcohol abuse among other issues” Noted Gitaka
The Uasin Gishu Journalist Association in Partnership with other Organizations such as the Kenya Red cross has been engaged in the planting of Tree seedlings across the various Forest Stations in Uasin Gishu County.
More than 80 Million people in The Horn of Africa are food insecure, with Kenya Recording close to 4Millioin People whose lives have been threatened by Drought and Famine occasioned by Climatic Weather Changes.
