Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu County has announced that the county has exceeded its revenue target, achieving Ksh. 1.4 billion, surpassing the previously set target of Ksh. 1.1 billion.
Governor Bii emphasized the county’s success in generating its own source of revenue, crediting the business community for their significant contribution. “This has occurred for the first time in the history of the evolution of Uasin Gishu, and it means we are on the right trajectory and doing the right thing,” he stated.
He attributed the achievement to the peaceful environment fostered in the county, which has enabled smooth business operations, and to the automation of revenue collection systems, which has increased efficiency. “We did our best to seal all the leakages we could not reach at first, and now everyone, including the business community, is cooperating,” he explained.
Additionally, Governor Bii expressed his appreciation for the business community’s unity and lack of tribalism. “I want to emphasize and put it strongly that Eldoret is the place to be and invest in,” he said.
Looking forward, he assured the public that the government is committed to providing quality services, ensuring that the residents see the value of their money.
