A County Executive Committee (CEC) member in Uasin Gishu County has been arrested by EACC officers after being caught receiving treated money in an attempted bribery operation at her county office.
The arrest turned chaotic when two county askaris tried to block the officers, leading to their arrest for obstruction of justice.
Following the arrest, investigators intercepted the CEC member’s county vehicle and discovered a large sum of cash.
The CEC member, now booked at the Eldoret Central Police Station, is set to face charges of bribery and corruption, while the two askaris will face obstruction charges. The EACC has impounded the vehicle as part of its ongoing investigations.
