A secondary school teacher in Ziwa, Uasin Gishu County, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy after the minor’s livestock strayed onto his farm.

According to witnesses, the teacher attacked the boy, causing injuries that resulted in bleeding before neighbors intervened and rescued him.

The shocking incident has sparked outrage among residents, who are now demanding justice for the victim.

Confirming the arrest, Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi stated that the victim was immediately taken to Ziwa Sub-County Hospital for medical attention.

Authorities have also completed a P3 form, a crucial document used in assault cases, as part of the ongoing investigation.

“We received a report of an assault, and our officers responded promptly,” Mwanthi said. “The boy received treatment, and the suspect is in custody. He will be arraigned in court in Eldoret on Thursday to face the appropriate charges.”

The teacher remains in police custody as authorities continue their investigations. The case has reignited conversations about the need for peaceful conflict resolution, with police urging members of the public to seek legal avenues when handling disputes.

“There are proper channels for addressing grievances,” Mwanthi emphasized. “Resorting to violence only leads to further problems and potential legal consequences.”

Residents have expressed deep concern over the incident, with many calling for stricter measures to prevent such cases in the future.

Community leaders have urged law enforcement to ensure the suspect faces justice while advocating for increased awareness of non-violent ways to resolve conflicts.

As the case proceeds, the public awaits further updates on the suspect’s court appearance and the legal actions that will follow.
