President William Ruto addressed his critics during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens, defending his administration’s agenda and dismissing opposition claims as unfounded.

He used the occasion to emphasize the importance of truth and constructive engagement in national discourse.

President Ruto expressed concern over the rapid spread of misinformation on social media, cautioning that such negativity could hinder the country’s progress.

He urged Kenyans to focus on nation-building and to base their discussions on verified facts.

“At all times, let us endeavor to engage on the basis of truth. Failure to do so will lead us down a path of negativity, turning us into people who sabotage development, undermine democracy, and destroy our Republic for political expediency,” President Ruto stated.

Highlighting the accomplishments of his administration, the President pointed to reductions in the cost of living and inflation as evidence of progress.

He challenged his critics to acknowledge these improvements and to engage in fact-based discussions.

“What will they say in a few weeks when we begin handing over keys to new homeowners under our affordable housing program? What will they say about the thousands of plumbers, electricians, health workers, construction workers, and digital professionals who are already contributing to our nation’s transformation?” Ruto asked, expressing confidence in the success of his development agenda.

The President concluded by urging leaders and citizens to prioritize development and unity, cautioning against allowing political rivalries to devolve into actions that demoralize the public or disrupt national progress.
