Kenya lionesses to take up challenge against South Africa on Wednesday 24th at the Stade Maki in Antananarivo, Madagascar in their second match of the Rugby africa women’s cup championship  after winning their first match against Madagascar.

The match will be their first against the South African team since August 2021 when South Africa won a two match test series in Stellenbosch.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s match, Mwanja said, “the South Africa game will be more physical, more tactical. I’ve watched them play. They are very good in spreading the ball wide and also very good in defending. Denying them possession and contesting everything they put in will give us an edge.”

The coach has made a single change in the team to replace Phoebe Akinyi who got injured during their game against Madagascar. She will be replaced by Enid Ouma who has made a debut to the team.

The Lionesses stand a strong battle as the winner and the runners up will qualify for the second and third tier of the newly launched World Rugby WXV respectively.
