President William Ruto’s close ally, Kapseret MP Oscah Sudi has dared
Opposition leader Raila Odinga to groom somebody from Luo Nyanza to
take over the leadership mantle from him ahead of 2027.

The outspoken MP told the former Prime Minister to honorably retire
from active politics due to his advanced age and instead groom a young
blood to spearhead the fight for democratic space and other injustice
from him.

Speaking to the media at his Kapseret home in Uasin Gishu County, Sudi
lashed out at Raila for being self centred by failing to groom young
Turks to take over from him despite outliving his usefulness in
politics.

“We are urging the opposition leader to kindly retire from politics
and groom somebody from Luo Nyanza to spearhead the job he has been
doing for decades that include the fight for injustice and democratic
space in the country,” argued Sudi.

He lashed out at Raila for putting President Ruto’s administration at
ransom through the mass action he has called on Monday and Thursday of
every week.

The mass protests, Sudi stated, were to not only to tarnish the image of
the new government but also  sabotage the implementation of development
programs under the Kenya Kwanza Administration.

He however, noted that despite the spirited efforts by Raila to bring
down the country socially and economically, the government will
endeavor to bring down the cost of living due to the goodwill and
support it was enjoying  among the citizens.

“It is just a matter of time before you see the cost of essential
goods drop down. So let us be patient and ignore the mass action being
called by anti-government proponents.

Sudi also took issue with Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua,
Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Democratic Movement party and Roots party
counterpart Prof George Wajackoya for following Raila blindly as he
tried to destabilize the country through violent protests.

This comes amid hue and cry from the business community, transporters
and hoteliers from major towns of Nairobi, Kisumu and Migori, as they
count losses running into billions of shillings after the
Opposition-led protests disrupted their business.

Their woes are bound to escalate even further following a declaration
by the Opposition leader that the country-wide mass action will be
held twice a week.
