Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and John Mututho Unite in Call for Sobriety and Rehabilitation to Combat Alcohol and Substance Abuse Menace

At a Heroes and Heroines Award Ceremony in Eldoret, organized by bishops from across the country, Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has voiced a compelling call to action regarding alcohol consumption and driving on Kenyan roads.

In her address, Pastor Dorcas  has  emphasized the dire consequences of alcohol-related accidents and urged drivers to abstain from alcohol while operating vehicles. Pastor Rigathi underscored the imperative of sustaining the battle against illicit alcohol and substance abuse, citing their detrimental impact on the nation’s youth.

“The sale of alcohol and substance abuse has deprived many young men of their futures,” asserted Pastor Rigathi, highlighting the urgency for concerted efforts to rescue the male demographic from the clutches of this pervasive societal scourge.

Echoing her sentiments, John Mututho, former Chairman of the National Campaign Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse, implored the government to intensify rehabilitation services in response to the escalating challenge of illicit alcohol and substance abuse. Mututho proposed a comprehensive strategy, likening it to a “Marshall Plan,” and offered his expertise to aid the government in eradicating this menace within a stringent three-month timeline.

“We need to bolster rehabilitation services,” emphasized Mututho, unveiling plans for the completion  of the largest rehabilitation center in Africa at the John Mututho Empowerment Center. With a projected bed capacity exceeding 1000, the facility aims to provide vital support in combating alcohol and substance abuse while offering a beacon of hope for individuals seeking recovery.
