Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing the Affordable Housing Project, a key component in the nation’s economic growth strategy.
Speaking at the national celebrations held in Kwale Stadium, Mudavadi joined other national leaders, including President William Ruto, in honoring the country’s heroes and heroines, while also highlighting the transformative potential of the housing initiative.
Under the theme “BOMA YANGU, NYUMBA YANGU” (My Homestead, My House), Mudavadi reflected on the achievements of Kenya’s past and present champions from various walks of life.
He underscored the significance of the Affordable Housing Project, which remains one of the government’s flagship development plans aimed at ensuring a dignified and decent life for every Kenyan.
“As we reflect on the achievements of our heroes and heroines, the government remains steadfast in advancing the Affordable Housing Project,” said Mudavadi.
The Affordable Housing Project is part of the government’s broader agenda to address Kenya’s housing deficit while also spurring economic growth.
According to Mudavadi, the initiative is about more than just providing homes; it’s about creating job opportunities and fostering sustainable development across the country.
“Through this initiative, we are not only ensuring that every Kenyan enjoys a dignified and decent life but also creating employment opportunities and driving sustainable economic growth,” he added.
During the celebrations, which were attended by high-ranking officials including Deputy President Nominee Prof. Kithure Kindiki and Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Mudavadi paid tribute to the relentless efforts of Kenyans working to make the government’s affordable housing vision a reality.
He noted that this project would not only improve the lives of millions of citizens but also position Kenya as a global leader in affordable housing solutions.
Mudavadi’s remarks came in line with President William Ruto’s administration’s broader economic and social agenda, which includes other pillars such as universal healthcare, food security, and industrialization.
The government’s goal is to construct over 250,000 affordable housing units annually as part of its ambitious plan to reduce the housing gap and uplift millions of Kenyans into better living conditions.
As the Mashujaa Day celebrations continued, the message was clear: Kenya’s heroes are not just in its history books but are present today in the form of ordinary citizens contributing to the country’s progress.
The government reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that every Kenyan can aspire to a better future, beginning with a secure, dignified home.
