The death toll in Kisumu has  increased to two following the anti-government protests held  on Wednesday and  Thursday.

David Ouma, a 32-year-old was shot in the abdomen by police in Ahero and was quickly rushed to   Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement by the hospital management, Ouma died in the theatre while being prepared for operation.

Meanwhile, four more victims of police shooting were rushed into the facility last night for treatment.

Amos Odhiambo,37 was shot in his lower abdomen in the car wash area near Kondele. Peter Ayub was also shot in his left arm in Manyatta.

Daniel Ouma, a 19-year-old was also a victim who was shot in the mouth at Nyamasaria and is admitted alongside 26-year-old Victor Oreme who was shot at the back and is  also recovering at the facility.

Kisumu County has now recorded a total of 13 victims of police shootings out of which two unfortunately succumbed
