Kenya Set to Host First-Ever Jamhuri National Job Fair

The Kenyan government is gearing up to host the inaugural Jamhuri National Job Fair, a landmark event running from December 5th to 11th, 2024, under the theme “Jobs, Labour Migration, Entrepreneurship, and Entertainment.”
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi chaired the final organizing committee meeting for the event, emphasizing its significance in showcasing innovative approaches to creating opportunities for Kenyans both locally and abroad.
“The job fair will demonstrate our commitment to unlocking global opportunities through labor mobility and entrepreneurship within the creative economy,” Mudavadi stated.
He highlighted the critical role of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs in identifying and shaping trends in international labor markets to benefit Kenyan talent.
The seven-day event will serve as a dynamic platform for Kenyan youth, providing them with a chance to explore a wide range of opportunities.
It aims to spotlight pathways for employment, entrepreneurship, and growth within the creative economy, a sector that has gained substantial traction globally.
Attendees can expect to connect with various stakeholders, including potential employers, government representatives, and entrepreneurs.
The event will also feature interactive sessions, workshops, and exhibitions to empower participants with insights into emerging trends and skills needed to thrive in the evolving global job market.
Dennis Itumbi, Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office of the President, was among those present at the meeting.
Itumbi and his team are tasked with ensuring the event’s success, further cementing Kenya’s position as a leader in innovative job creation and youth empowerment strategies.
