Kenya has officially concluded its participation in the Multinational Security Support Mission to Haiti, with the final contingent of officers completing their deployment and marking the end of the Kenya-led operation.

The government said Kenyan officers served with dedication throughout the mission, working alongside the Haiti National Police and other international personnel to restore stability in key areas.

Our officers in the Multinational Security Support Mission to Haiti served with utmost dedication and raised our Kenyan flag high,” the statement read.

During the mission, the officers secured critical infrastructure including airports, seaports, and major transport corridors, while also helping restore state presence in previously inaccessible regions. Their efforts contributed to the reopening of schools, hospitals, and businesses in affected areas.

Kenyan officials also held engagements with Haitian authorities and members of the diplomatic community at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince as they oversaw the final phase of the drawdown.

The withdrawal of the last 150 Kenyan officers marks the formal conclusion of the MSS mission and the transition to the newly established Gang Suppression Force, which will take over stabilization efforts.

“The drawdown of the last contingent of 150 Kenyan officers marks the end of the MSS and the successful transition to the Gang Suppression Force,” the statement added.

Despite the conclusion of the mission, Kenya emphasized that its support for Haiti remains firm.

“Though the Mission has ended, Kenya’s solidarity with the people of Haiti is enduring. We extend our sincere appreciation to all partners who supported this Mission and reaffirm our commitment to multilateral cooperation in the maintenance of global peace and security,” the statement read
