Hundreds Gather as Mandago’s Mother’s Body Is Taken Home Ahead of Burial

The people of Eldoret Hospital morgue area on Monday brought all their residents who died before burial to access Mama Esther Tapsiarga Lelei’s body after Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago’s mother received her body for burial on February 10.
Senator Mandago with his father Daniel Kirorei Lelei led family members and relatives together with mourners who showed their last respect to the 92-year-old woman before her body moved to the family home.

Mama Esther died on January 29 while receiving treatment at Eldoret Hospital. The family will bury her at Sigen farm which they own near Kuinet that lies close to Eldoret along Eldoret–Ziwa Road.
The mortuary ceremony which lasted a short time and contained emotional elements attracted many people who came to pay their respects because the late Mama Esther had earned great respect from her community. The clergy from both the Christian and Muslim faiths attended the event to pray together for the family in a display of interfaith solidarity before the hearse left for the rural home.
The family of Senator Mandago receives political religious and community leaders who come to his home to comfort them while they describe Mama Esther as a strong person because she lived her life with humility and resilience and strong family values.

The family members who spoke about her power to connect people through her actions which established peace between family members and all community members who lived outside their home.
The residents who attended the ceremony observed that all people who came to the ceremony showed how much Mama Esther had helped the community which now mourns her death that reached beyond her immediate family.
