Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is refusing to be defeated by increasing scrutiny ahead of two critical fixtures.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Ten Hag insisted he was still confident in the team’s unity and the club’s hierarchy, while continuing to assert that both the administration and the players are giving it their all so that even better results may surface.
When asked if he was afraid of what the future could hold should the games turn out not so well, Ten Hag dismissed any form of anxiety thus: “I’m not anxious. We are together. We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership. We are all behind the agreement we had.”
What he said has shown the coherence of the coaching staff, ownership, and players, which can be interpreted to mean a united approach to overcoming the present difficulties.
United have been under increasing pressure in the last weeks due to inconsistent displays and somewhat dissatisfactory results.
However, Ten Hag has made it clear that the hierarchy of the club remains in his corner and that talks are continuing over the best way to get the team back on the right track.
“We’re talking continually. We are talking about how we can improve the process,” he disclosed, stressing all the same that collaboration and strategic adjustments remain the focus.
But despite the questions over whether the team truly shares that objective, Ten Hag was quick to reassure supporters that the squad remains motivated and committed to the cause.
“Yes, in this group, there is good spirit. You see this is a team who wants to fight for each other,” the Dutchman added.
Players’ unity and determination are indispensable for Ten Hag in this period.
Support from fans has also been vital for the morale of the team, Ten Hag acknowledged from the stands. “The fans kept supporting us from the first moment until the last moment,” he said, highlighting the loyalty of Manchester United supporters, who have continued to rally round their team despite an impoverished recent return.
While Manchester United prepares for its next few matches, Ten Hag insists he has confidence in everyone concerned, on and off the pitch.
For now, Ten Hag is resolute in his conviction that a way out of the current difficulties can be found by Manchester United, with togetherness and spirit which he sees inside the squad, guided by the leadership of the club.
