Sharing his vision on his verified social media accounts on Friday, November 15, 2024, the governor outlined key measures aimed at empowering youth and farmers in the region.

Central to the county’s strategy has been the reduction of levies and fees for boda boda and taxi operators. Governor Bii emphasized that this move allows young entrepreneurs to save more and manage their finances effectively.

“By lowering operational costs for our boda boda and taxi operators, we are enabling our hardworking youth to thrive, ensuring they can budget better and invest in their futures,” the governor wrote.

In addition to supporting the transport sector, the county has ramped up its efforts in the agricultural domain.

Governor Bii highlighted the success of the county’s enhanced last-mile fertilizer distribution initiative, which ensures farmers receive critical inputs in a timely manner.

By leveraging county stores as distribution hubs, the program aims to boost crop yields and overall productivity, directly contributing to food security and economic stability in the region.

The governor also attended the ABSA Biashara Meeting held in Eldoret, a platform that brings together stakeholders to discuss business opportunities and challenges in the region.

Among the notable attendees was Uasin Gishu Women Representative Hon. Gladys Boss, alongside other county officials and business leaders.

The meeting served as a forum to highlight the county’s progress and explore partnerships that drive economic growth.

Governor Bii reiterated his administration’s dedication to fostering an enabling environment for businesses and individuals.

His leadership has been marked by a focus on inclusivity, particularly through initiatives targeting youth empowerment and agricultural development.

As Uasin Gishu continues to position itself as a hub for entrepreneurship and agriculture, the county’s efforts to reduce financial burdens on small-scale operators and enhance access to farming inputs are critical.

These initiatives not only stimulate economic growth but also ensure that residents of the county are well-equipped to navigate challenges and seize emerging opportunities.

The governor’s address underscores a broader commitment to resilience, sustainability, and shared prosperity for all residents of Uasin Gishu County.
