In a shocking revelation, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has voiced serious concerns about his personal safety, accusing President William Ruto of orchestrating actions that threaten his life.

Speaking during a public address, Gachagua alleged multiple attempts on his life and revealed details of a strained relationship with the president.

“I want to tell Kenyans that I don’t feel safe,” Gachagua declared, recounting several unsettling incidents that have heightened his fears.

He claimed that while he was in Kisumu, undercover agents entered his hotel room and planted listening devices.

He further alleged that one of the agents attempted to poison his food, though the scheme was thwarted in time.

“We detected the plot and escaped,” Gachagua stated.

The Deputy President went on to reveal another incident in Nyeri, where he accused the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of making a second attempt to poison his food.

“After the two attempts failed, that’s when the impeachment motion was hatched,” he added, implying a coordinated effort to remove him from power.

Expressing his disappointment, Gachagua remarked, “I bear no grudge against anybody, but I had not seen that in President William Ruto. The man I am seeing is not the one I thought I knew.”

The growing rift between the two leaders was further exposed as Gachagua described an apparent betrayal by Ruto.

According to the Deputy President, the situation took a turn for the worse while he was hospitalized.

Gachagua alleged that during his medical treatment, Ruto ordered the withdrawal of his security detail.

“It’s unfortunate that while I was in the hospital, my brother and friend, William Ruto, ordered the withdrawal of my security. I no longer have any officers assigned to protect me,” he lamented.

The absence of security has left Gachagua feeling vulnerable, and he issued a public warning regarding the potential consequences.

“As of today, the Deputy President of Kenya has no security. If anything happens to me or my family, Ruto should be held accountable,” he said.

Gachagua also recounted a recent health scare, where he experienced severe chest pain and shortness of breath while on his way to the office.

“I called my doctor and described how I was feeling. As we were speaking, I started experiencing shortness of breath,” he added, raising further concerns about his well-being.
