The family of late Mercy Sakim aged 28 year who  passed on while in Saudi Arabia has something to smile though in mourning, after the body of their daughter arrived in Kenya from Saudi Arabia.

The Late Mercy died on August this year after burns that were allegedly caused by an  acid attack.

The body of Mercy arrived in Kenya following interventions by former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who paid the mortuary and air ticket fees  from Saudi Arabia  to Kenya.

Mbuvi Sonko  through Sonko rescue team  has also  promised  to  support  the  family   ferry the remains of the late Sakim to their home in Kalimani village in Kangundo  for the burial.

Agnes Kiloko, the mother of  late Sakim said she was thankful to God  after receiving the remains of her only daughter from Saudi Arabia,

“We  thank Mike  Sonko for his support, as  a  family  we had no means of bringing her  remains  back home and thus we  had no peace ,”Said  Kiloko.

Mueni Mureithi cousin to late the Sakim added that Mercy went to Saudi  Arabia on April but passed on August this year and as  a family the load of bringing Mercy home was too much for them to bear and due  to the support  of  Mike Sonko the  family   will finally  lay to rest the  remains  of  Mercy Sakim.

“We are  deeply  indebted to Mike Sonko  we  however  urge the government to help late Mercy find justice  and help any other  Kenyan who is in distress in that Country,”Said Mueni .

The  Sonko  rescue  team  received  three  extra bodies  from the  said country with the  other  bodies expected  to be ferried  to their  families in  Mombasa,Meru and Kangundo.

“We call upon the government to  ensure  we  have proper  mechanisms  that  can help Kenyans secure  job abroad  safely and  also help them come back home whenever  they want  to, “Said Brian Njoroge of the Sonko Rescue Team.

Mercy’s  remains will be laid to rest on Friday , she leaves behind  a  son.
