Fourteen staff members of former Member of Parliament for Keiyo South (Daniel Ronoh) have claimed that a sum of money amounting to over Ksh 3 Million was unlawfully deducted from their payslips between the years 2017-2022 .
Speaking to the media the Mp’s former driver David Kipsang has called upon the government to look into the issue saying most of the staff have lost a lot of their monies in unclear circumstances.
“I would like to ask President William Ruto to look into this matter because he is a leader who would not like to see citizens getting exploited,i urge various government investigative agencies to investigate the former Mp and the then Constituency manager over the illegal deductions” said kipsang.
Kipsang added that more than ksh 90,000 was deducted from his salary, thus could not meet his financial needs effectively
“I was deducted more than Ksh 90,000,considering the current economic situation, that is a lot of money yet I need to pay school fees for my children and other needs neither the former Mp nor the Constituency manager have accorded me a satisfactory explanation over the deductions ,” he said
However when contacted by Hubzmedia.africa the former legislature Daniel Rono has claimed the staff willingly contributed the money to offset Kenya revenue Authority remittances that had not been paid by the previous keiyo South constituency manager ,threatening freezing of the Constituency bank accounts and that would have led to staff missing their salaries and other allowances ,
“We took all the responsibility to ensure that all the mess that was caused by the former constituency manager, is sorted out and eventually those who contributed will get back their money, their salaries were intact ,we used office operations money to clear part of the money owned to KRA ”said Rono.
