A former Kimumu Senior Chief arraigned in an Eldoret Court over defilement

Eldoret law court on Monday granted a retired senior chief who defiled a 17 year old girl a bond of sh 200,000 with surety of a similar amount.


The accused, William Sang who is also a former General Service Unit (GSU ) officer was charged that on December 12, 2022 he defiled the girl from Kaptagat village in Elgeyo Marakwet County.


The Prosecution report indicates that the former chief who owns several rental plots in Eldoret town lured the young girl into having sexual intercourse with her on the said date and place.


He is also facing an alternative charge of indecent act with the girl where he is alleged to have touched the minor’s private parts.


The suspect denied all the charges as read to him and was released on a bond of sh 200,000 with surety of similar amount.


He was arrested by irate members of the public after they subjected him to mob justice upon bursting him in the act following a tip off from local  villagers.

The Senior Resident Magistrate Christine Menya while presiding over the matter set the mention of the case on February 6,2023.
