Father Breaks Down in Court Recounting Last Moments with Slain Daughter
Geoffrey Omega narrated how his daughter, Mary Elusa, a Class Seven pupil, went missing on December 21, 2020, only to be discovered lifeless the following day.

A cereal trader broke down in tears as he recounted the final moments with his 14-year-old daughter, who was found murdered and her body dumped in a napier grass plantation.
Testifying before Presiding Judge Robert Wananda, Geoffrey Omega narrated how his daughter, Mary Elusa, a Class Seven pupil, went missing on December 21, 2020, only to be discovered lifeless the following day. He revealed that Mary had been harmed before her body was stuffed in a gunny bag.
“I had purchased 20 gunny bags that morning and instructed my wife to send one of the children to pick them from me at Moi’s Bridge Township. My third-born daughter, Mary, was sent, and I handed her the bags before driving off to Iten to collect a consignment of maize,” Omega testified.
However, when he returned home that evening, his wife informed him that Mary had not arrived. A frantic search ensued, leading to the heartbreaking discovery of her body in a nearby napier grass plantation.
“The area chief advised us not to touch the body until DCI officers from Eldoret arrived to process the scene,” Omega recalled as tears streamed down his face.
The court heard that the suspect, Evans Juma Wanjala, 42, who has been in custody at Eldoret GK Remand Prison, had confessed to killing Mary along with four other minors: Linda Cherono, 13, Grace Njeri, 12, Stacy Nabiso, 10, and Lucy Wanjiru, 15.
The case has been adjourned to May 21 for further hearing.
