The people of Eldoret demonstrated their belief system when members of Tawfiq Da’wa Community together with local residents completed a Ramadan Iftar Walk which supported orphans and widows and other people in need.
The walk started at Zion Mall and made its way to Maili Nne, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds who joined in solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan. The walkers took breaks along the route to pray and perform charitable acts, which demonstrated the generosity and empathy and service that people practice during this sacred time.
Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei, who spoke during the event, praised the initiative, saying it was a meaningful example of faith being translated into positive community action and peaceful coexistence.
“Ramadan requires us to show compassion to each other and to share our possessions with those who experience difficulties. This Iftar Walk truly reflects unity and humanity within our county,” she said.
The walk raised funds and donations which will be used to help orphans and widows and needy families by reducing their difficulties during Ramadan and all the following days.
Ms. Boss Shollei expressed her gratitude to all the participants and partners who contributed to making the event successful.
“I am grateful to everyone who participated and to all who gave generously. Your contributions have made a real difference. Jazakum Allahu khayran,” she said.
The Ramadan Iftar Walk served as a reminder of Eldoret’s strong sense of togetherness and the community’s continued commitment to uplifting the less fortunate through faith-driven initiatives.
