Cristiano Ronaldo will continue his international career with Portugal after being included in new head coach Jorge Jesus’ first squad.
The veteran forward has been selected for Portugal’s upcoming September and October fixtures, ending speculation that he could step away from international football following his latest campaign.
Jesus has included the 41-year-old Al Nassr captain in his first squad since taking charge of the national team, signalling that Ronaldo remains part of Portugal’s plans as the new coaching era begins.
Ronaldo remains Portugal’s all-time leading goalscorer and one of the most experienced players in the national team’s history. His continued involvement gives Jesus an experienced option as he begins preparations for the team’s upcoming international assignments.
